bubbling

The bubble hemmed skirts have been out for a while. I never saw pieces that I thought looked good and very rarely, did I see people who could actually pull it off. I admit, I had tried on a few for fun but they were always so unflattering on me. A lot of times, the fabric and how bubbled/tulip like the skirt was, just made it look so dumpy-looking. Well, I found a few pieces that I liked because they weren't too bubbly and they weren't the typical skirts.

The pattern of the body caught my eye and the material is so incredibly comfortable! I love swish-swish fabrics! What's nice is that there's a slight bubble effect and it's not just a skirt. The band on the bottom also keeps you from looking poofed out.

The fabric of this felt amazing! I love the color and the detailing of the sleeves! Looks great with jeans or dress pants.

when nature calls

....you answer it! It's everywhere - bold, brightly colored, and floral prints! It's the perfect way to step into summer. Are there things that catch your eye, but you're not sure if you can pull it off? Try it on! You'd be surprised by how great some of these pieces look when they're actually on a person. They're fun and give you such an energized vibe when you're rocking it. You can go all out with pairing them with bold bottoms, giving yourself a tropic feel. But I prefer just throwing on a pair of jeans and capris, keeping the attention to the top.

One of my finds while playing hooky by going shopping with the girls. I really liked the yellow paired with the brown.

I actually got this when it was still freezing out. I have a thing for the long shirts so that was the initial attraction. It's also green and has two front pockets! I love pockets, it gives your hands something to do.

Oooh, primary colors.

I couldn't help being drawn to the bright green of this! A plus, I love this style of shirts. You just got to watch out that they're not too flowy or you may look prego.

One of the many reasons why I love Target! Floral with a bit of bohemian. The color choices were pretty too.

Originally I had tried on this print in a tube top but it was way too tight. I was disappointed because I loved the print but luckily I saw that they made it in another style! Perfect, now it's work appropriate too!

I absolutely love this necklace!! I'm not a fan of real gold but I find myself buying pieces with matted gold. Trees and birds, what's not to love? I'm just glad I can wear this more often now. It didn't go as well with my winter attire but I've been busting it out like crazy now!

bling out your purse

I've only slowly seen some purses here with some awesome bling-bling added to it. But in HK, people are blinging like crazy! I definitely think that some people go overboard with it, to the point where it looks extremely tacky. The key is keeping the bling as an accent. If your purse/bag is already massively decorated, don't go adding more to it. I love how it can give your bags a little funk.

Got my cross obsession covered.

These can accessorize a range of colors.

"I'm telling you to loosen up my buttons....."

Okay, maybe not the best song but you get the point. Buttons! Looooove them. Who ever knew that by placing a few types of buttons on clothing and accessories would be so cute. One sucky thing, if you lose one, it's hard to get a replacement.

This is the one I got last year when I first started seeing the button bling outs.

This is the newer version from this year. I didn't get it because I didn't like how scooped the top was. Even though I could pair it with a tank, I felt that the whoo-haas area was too exposed still. Not too appropriate for school in my mind.

I love the newsboy hats, pair them with some fingerless gloves and you'll be styling! Okay, maybe just stacey-stylin. The little plaid wristlet is also so cute with the buttons.

calling back houndstouth

I've actually always been a fan of this print and was so excited to see so much fashion blasted with it. These are one of the many times where I wished that my mother had kept her clothing from when she was younger! Fashion, trends, whatever it is, there is only so much new stuff you can create before having to recycle again.

I actually had gotten this jacket a few years ago. The guys loved making fun of me by saying, "Oh look, Grandma's here!" As you can see, I lost a button! I know it's around here somewhere. I love the furry accent on the hood that gives it a younger vibe.

I love layering pieces so this piece can work in the winter as well. I find it more flattering when patterns don't take over the whole piece. It's what keeps it cute and chic.

furry accents, fur-sure!

If you haven't gotten on board from last year, make sure you get some fur trimmed pieces now. I've always been a fan of fur trimmings (well faux fur), I love feeling it (in a non-pervy way). The pieces out now are great for those who don't enjoy looking like a bear wearing the full-on fur! The fur trim helps give us this cute, chic, sophisticated look without going completely overboard. What I like is the fact that the pieces can now be worn indoors as well, they don't have to merely serve as coats anymore. This is always a plus in my book since I love having items that have more than one purpose.

I got this fur trimmed vest last year. It's cropped and apparently that's really in this year. So if you've been trying them on and notice that they seem a little short, don't worry, it's the way they were made. The fur is always removable but I wouldn't have it any other way.

This blazer was picked up last year as well. You gotta love items on sale. The plaid pattern works well since that's the style now. The fur trim is removable so you can work it as a blazer for work.

I had been eyeing this piece for a few months but the price was beyond ridiculous. Had it been a jacket, it would have been something that I could have "thought" about it. But lucky me, it was so on sale and there was only one left. This vest is also cropped and has the plaid pattern. The fur trim feels so smooth and nice on this one. I know this isn't exactly the best comparison but it reminds me of that koala doll I had back in college (even then, I joked about making it into a vest somehow). It's pretty thick and warm so it could even serve as your jacket for not so cold days.

I loved the color and the fact that this was a sweater zip-up! The buttons on the top give it such a cute look too.

This is definitely ones of those pieces that look much better when you put it on. It came as two pieces, a tank top with a cropped bolero top. But honestly, when you're wearing it, it's so chic and cute! I figured it was good to have a piece where the fur trim was around a different area.

tag! grey's it!

Move over a bit black, grey's coming in! One of the hottest colors for late fall/winter is grey. Instead of just wearing all black, mix some grey shades into your outfits. I love wearing grey and you can go from light/silvery grey to dark charcoal grey. I think grey pieces give off a cool sophisticated vibe. Mixing shades of grey is great way to go. Keep in mind that accessories in grey are a great touch as well!

Here are just a few options out there, from different shades to textures.

Here are some of my new additions to the closet:

I love the darkness to this dress! It's got a belt too, an added bonus. This looks really good with boots and even with leggings.

D&G - one of my many loves. Since I'm not the type to buy black bags, this is a great purse to add to my outfits. This was a lil something I picked up for myself when I was getting purses for my mom's bday gift. It actually helped me get more of a discount since I stressed that I was buying a few purses from them. (Yes, I'll keep telling myself that)

My bold piece!! I had gotten these since the beginning of fall and had been dying to break them out! All my boots are either brown or black, so shelling out for a non-standard color was hard decision for me. But I love the coolness to it, gives me like a military vibe. Plus, the heel is pretty small so it should be more comfortable to walk around in.
