Feelin the 80's

"We got the beat, we got the beat, yeah!" Leggings have made a huge comeback this spring and summer. They've gotten shorter in length, more colorful, and different embellishments. I actually had gotten a pair in the winter because I had seen that was what a lot of the girls in Japan were wearing. But it was too cold to rock them and I was still hesistant about them. They allow for you to wear short skirts and never having to be in fear of mooning anyone. It also looks really cute under certain styles of dresses and long shirts. Also, if you wear them with a funky tee, it gives you a punk vibe. So you can go playful, cute, and rocker!

I loved the cuffing and button on these! They're really comfortable too. The key to making them look good is that the bottom has to be tightly wrapped around your leg. It looks awkward when it's loose, flowy, or flared looking. To top it off, you should wear ballet flats to complete the casual/cutesy style.

These were the $8.50 ballet sneaks that I got at the outlet. I love the funky design and the bow. Very comfy as well.

I actually had found these first. I found it funny that two different brands have similar designed shoes.

Cherry pop

I finally got my hands on a cherry shirt. I was hoping for a pink and green scheme but beggars can't be choosers. I love the little cut-out and the button on the side. Looks like my fruit appetite has been satisfied.

bubbly

I'm finding myself drawn to these bubble-like designs lately. I especially like it when the metal is a mixture of being smooth/shiny, sanded, blinged out, etc. I was picturing how cute this ring would look on my index finger. I've wanted a big ring for my index finger but due to my small fingers, they're all made too big and would fling off.

(Sorry for the poor shot but it turns out slightly blurry or too much light reflected back) Granted that this isn't the ring, but I was able to find these earrings that were similar to the design that I've been eyeing. The price was much better, especially since it's not made from white gold, platinum, and diamonds.

a worthy cause

I recently went to Aldo to purchase these tags. All of the proceeds will go towards YouthAids, which help fund HIV prevention programs. Their campaign is huge and they have tons of celebrities modeling the tags. They have ones that say hear, see, and speak. Can you guess why I got the "see" one? I actually was going to get the rest but they ran out at the time. If you want, you can purchase them online from Aldo Fights Aids.

fun finds

I love bubble tea! How appropriate is this tee?!? I am trying to stay away from buying tees since they're not very work appropriate. I've been pretty good, I used to buy all those saucy tees from AE but I haven't at all now. I'm actually amused that they used the name "boba" because of where that name originated from. Boba tea actually started in Taiwan years before it hit the US. I remember that when I went back, my family brought me to a buffet place and all I kept consuming was the tapioca balls. Of course I got yelled at since that would've been the cheapest item there. Anyways, because of the size of these balls, they named it "boba" (in Mandarin) after this famous female movie star who was known for her huge boobs. Isn't that nice to know that you're sipping down a drink named after huge hoo-haas?

I think this clutch is so cute and casual looking! I love that it's made out of corduroy. Most of the clutches I've seen are more dressy and for night use. But this seems like something that would look cute with tees, capris, sneaks, and flip flops!

graduation dress

I can't believe that I forgot about looking for a dress for graduation until this past weekend. Of course any other time that I go shopping, I always see dresses I love but I never have any justification for buying them. Well, this time I do and guess what? I see NO dresses anywhere. I went to a few malls and the ones I do like, either they don't have my size or they're out of my price range! My original plan was to buy a strapless dress with a floral design but I didn't see anything at all.

I really like this dress. I love the color combo and the design was exactly what I was aiming for. I think the belt is cute too but I don't know how it would look on me. The belted look does look really good on certain people but not all. I've never tried it out yet. Unfortunately, this dress is over $300 so it won't be mine.

I like the funky/retro design of this one as well. Once again, not sure how it would look but they didn't have any of this in the stores.

I am loving this dress as well. Eyelet dresses are really in for the summer. I would have loved to try this on but they didn't have it and the price range is over $300! What is with me and the unattainable dresses?

This is my graduation dress! I know it is nowhere near my original game plan. It was the only dress that was a good price and in my size. But I really do like it, I like the cutting on the bottom and the different pattern. It's not like any of the dresses I already own. The material feels really good too. It looks really good with jeans too, which is an added bonus! I am loving the long shirts/dresses ontop of jeans look, but I'll post more on that later.

a white summer

What's the must have accessory for the summer? A white bag. So here's one of my tributes to the summer. I'm loving the studs and belts. I'm not a huge fan of the plain white leather bags that they've been plastering everywhere, it bores me.

Sigh---one of my new loves! Since I already got my white-on, I got this one that's more cream colored. Can you tell that I'm all about the belts, studs, and punkish designs? D&G's are my guilty pleasure bags, I think I have at least 4? It's such a good going out bag, looks great in the sun. Look at me, talking about it as if it were a real person. I'm such a bag whore.

I love this bag as well and I want it! Here's my justification, it's a small bag and technically I don't have any small white accessories yet. Too bad it costs way more than a tokidoki.

a sparrow find

I am loving my new necklace! I wish I could get a better picture but either it comes out shiny or it comes out blurry. I can't remember where I first saw this necklace but I do recall the price range of it ($$$), which I thought was ridiculous. Then again, I find most things overpriced. But I was able to get mine for $4.80! Oh, so doing my dance of victory. Since I've been on my nautical kick, I do realize that a lot of sailors used to get sparrows for tattoos. I'm liking the other symbolization of sparrows--that it means finding your true love because when sparrows find their soul mate, they stay with them until their life ends.

let's get nautical

ok, seriously, if you look like this, you've gone overboard with it!

This was actually my first buy, I loved that it wasn't stripes all the way. I liked the contrast of the thick band on the bottom and on the sleeves. Plus, the cowl neck was cute too. I really wanted to get one of those roped chain necklaces but I still haven't been able to find ones I like that aren't too over the top.

I almost walked out of the store without this one. They didn't have any left in my size on the table. Kevin (realizing how devastated I was) decided to ask the woman if we could have the one on the mannequin. I told him it wouldn't work because I've tried at many occasions and they always give me crap that they need to send that one back to the warehouse. I really think they're just too lazy to take it off, who knows. Or when they finally give in, they give me the ultimatum that if they take it off, I must buy it. But strangely, the woman agreed and even let me try it on first. I love the colors, I'm a big brown fan. I like the nautical look in colors besides the navy, white, and red. Plus, the belt is cute too.

Another twist to the nautical look. The top half has the stripes going on an angle and it has a cute tie/scarf vibe to it too. It's a fun color too!

This one is similar to the above one except it has a much lower cut (which of course I'd be layering up on) and it doesn't have the ties. Pair it off with a long chain and it's perfecto! Plus, it's long and I'm loving the long shirts right now. Looks good with jeans and capris.

Though I'm sure many of you are afraid that stripes make you look fat but I don't think it's always the case. It depends on the coloring and the width of the stripes. Now if you were going to wear a loose plain striped shirt, yeah that might make you appear wider than you really are. But stick with a fun color and ones that have different cuttings, such as V-necks, boatnecks, etc. You should also go with stripes that are a decent width. It's a little too much when the patterning only allows for like 5 stripes on the body (too thick). As well, if you don't want too much stripe attention, go for ones that have a solid strip lined on the top, bottom, or sleeves.

Fruit, it's not just for eating

Pink, with a hoodie, and a pouch!

Weee, pouch!

With a kimono twist

One of my newest crazes....is wearing fruit! I'm guessing it's inspired by the recent craze with the animal prints. It was fun wearing them to school because I got the apple theme going on (without being tacky). I really want one with cherries but I haven't seen any around.

huge totes

I was obsessing over this tote for the longest time. I wanted something huge so that I could shove all my supplies and student notebooks in, yet I wanted something stylish still. The bags I already had were just plain striped ones, not that there's anything wrong with that but I wanted something that was "me". Of course I never got it because it was very pricey and that's crazy to spend on something that I would only be using for school. Plus, I have a thing of needing to see and touch something before I purchase it. I kept looking for it in stores because I wanted to see how wide I could actually stretch it.

I ended up receiving both of these as gifts. It's funny how 2 different people got me a tote that wasn't plain. I do love buckles, belts, studs, and braided handles on bags. My only gripe is that the braided handle one hurts when you shove too much into it. I had used it for a trip into the city with the girls and as I was running around for transfers, the rope started to really burn my shoulder.
cuff me

I love cuff bracelets, especially the really wide ones. But unfortunately because of the size of my wrists, I can't ever find any that won't fly off! I really like the one above, it's so funky. The ones I normally come across are always too plain, too floral, or too many embellishments. Jennifer Lopez wore one in one of her videos that caught my eye. Though I never got a really good look at it, I did like how the metallic cuff was held together by a cord. I liked how the laced cord looked against the cuff.

I actually found this in Target a while ago. It was designed by Luella (M says that her designs won't be there much longer though). I was shocked that it was actually small enough to fit my wrist. Then again, it is made out of plastic so you can stretch it out wider.

braided handles

I got this bag for my mom a few weeks ago. At the time, I didn't even know what brand it was. Of course as I was flipping through some magazines, I come across it and it's a must have "Fendi". The main reason why I got it was because of the braided handles. It has the coolest thing though, the flap opens up like a change purse! I think I'm going to play with the flap for a while before I give it back to her.
