hand-made bags

I am so behind with postings. I have had some things for quite some time but never got the chance to post them yet.

Yes, I know I already have a few big school bags but this one caught my eye. I love how one side of the straps is made to look like a tie! It is so different and makes it stand out from the rest of my collection. The only drawback is that the fabric is a thin so I would never try to overstuff it.

I wish I had the talent to make my own bags. I am a sucker for bags with plastic/wooden handles. It's nice to have a bag in this sage color. Usually my green bags are cameo prints. I thought the little plush keychain was a cute touch to the bag. This bag is a fun accessory to capris and skirts! I added the button on there later. It's an ape picking his nose. So me, so kiddin.

morbidly cool

Skulls, it's everywhere, you can't avoid it. It all started with McQueen's silk scarves and now the image is on everything from clothing, bags, to accessories. With this new fashion, it just screams out that you can wear just about anything as long as you find a way to fit it into your personal style. I think that's the toughest part, finding a way to mesh a craze/trend in with your own look. Just because magazines are telling you that something is "hot" doesn't mean you have to love it too. Now I would never go head-to-toe with a trend, I'd just take a small aspect of it and work it into a way that works best for me. Sure, POC:Dead Man's Chest is out, but you still don't want to be decked out in skulls to the point where people scream "Arrrgh, mi matey!" at you. It actually took me a while to find pieces that I liked, ones where the images weren't too creepy or overwhelming. Since I'm such a capris chick during the summer, I found that muscles tanks worked best for me.

I loved this tank when I first saw it, after all it is pink. I liked that the image was more cartoon like. What really sealed the deal was the 3 cute skull buttons it had on the side. I love clothing that has subtle accents to it. This looks great with capris or even a jean skirt.

Once again, the color of the tank first caught my eye. I'm all about army green. I thought the little skulls scattered in different colors was much different than the usual gigantic skull that's plastered right in the middle of shirts.

floral

My cousin sent this to me as a gift. I now have my first clutch and what's great about is that I can loop it as a wristlet as well! I love the fact that the bracelet seems to be made from hand-blown glass. There have been tons of clutches that I've eyed but since I'm so absentminded at times, I'm afraid I'll put it down and forget it.

I was able to find another cuff that'll fit my small wrists! I'm loving the antique feel to it. Cuffs are a simple accessory that can make your outfit more striking.
